Kay Elizabeth (KK), died December 29, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kay is survived by her former husband and special friend, Nolan "Pete" Dean; aunts and uncles: Mary Schnitgen of Warren, Ohio, A. Frederick Legg of Penn Yan, Dr. Joseph (Bonnie) Legg of Niantic, Connecticut, Sarah DiCampli of Geneva, and Barbara Dale of Hawaii; many cousins and second cousins; special friends Shelley and Curt Covert, Sue and Henry Kron, Bernie and Corky Beadle, Darlene and Gary Cronk, Carol Paar, Nan Zorn, Kevin Ryan, Marty Sebato, Merrill and Bart Turner and many more friends too numerous to mention. She received her associate's degree from Corning Community College then went to SUNY Brockport where she graduated with a degree in education. Kay taught at Batavia High School as a health teacher for 25 years. She was loved and respected by her students and peers for her "unique" way of teaching them about a healthy way of life. She won the U of R Teacher of the Year Award in 1986. 

Funeral Services were held January 6 at St. Michael's Church, Penn Yan, New York. Donations can be made to the Kay Dean Scholarship Fund, Batavia High School, 269 State Street, Batavia 14020, St. Michael's School, 210 Keuka Street, Penn Yan 14527 or to a charity of one's choice in her memory.
