Marguerite M. "Peggy" Stiles, 73, of Corning, passed away on July 31, 2022 at the Steuben Center Nursing Facility in Bath, NY.

Marguerite was born on February 2, 1949, in Corning, NY, and was the daughter of William and Ruth (Haynes) Hussey.

Marguerite held a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime; however, her favorite, of which she was very proud, was taking care of elderly people in their homes. She cared for each one as if they were family.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, and although she could no longer attend in-person, she never missed the Sunday morning televised mass and receiving communion in her home.

She enjoyed reading and watching horror movies and crime shows. She loved to talk and made friends wherever she went. Marguerite also loved Wheel of Fortune and could always guess the answers before the contestants. She was known for her love of coffee and baking her delicious zucchini bread which she always shared with loved ones.

Marguerite is survived by her son, Todd Starner of Corning and his children, Darcy, Owen, and Meah; her daughter, Amy McLaughlin and husband Ray of Corning and their daughters, Taylor and Leah; and her son, William Starner and wife, Brooke Schedneck of Memphis, TN and their son, Jet. She is also survived by her sisters: Karen Estep, Barbara (Milt) Peters, Denice (Rick) Thompson and Lynda (Joe) Carpenter; her sister-in-law, Betsy Roy; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Sadie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Hussey; her brother-in-law, James Estep; and her sister, Janice Gerber.

Marguerite fought a hard and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for the past 20 years.

Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to: National MS Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.

There will be a private service held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery.
